Over 30 energetic individuals volunteered with FORGE at PrideFest last weekend (June 11-13, 2010). Volunteers helped attendees to FORGE’s booth in the Health and Wellness Area create nearly 1000 armbands, headbands, ascots, sashes, and tails. 4000 coveted Free Hugs stickers were handed out, and close to 2000 buttons were selected and proudly worn.
“The U.S. Department of State is pleased to use the occasion of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride Month to announce its new policy guidelines regarding gender change in passports and Consular Reports of Birth Abroad.
Beginning June 10, when a passport applicant presents a certification from an attending medical physician that the applicant has undergone appropriate clinical treatment for gender transition, the passport will reflect the new gender.” (read more…)
