Andrea Jenkins is the first Black transgender woman to be elected to public office in the United States. She has been a leader in the trans community, in other social/political movements, in helping to preserve transgender history (especially oral history). She is an eloquent writer, poet, and spoken word artist, and so much more.
Her brilliance shines through in this piece of poetry she shares with us for #TransDayOfVisbility.
