Many trauma survivors have complex relationships with their bodies. Trans survivors often have additional layers of feelings, sensations, and beliefs about their bodies. This webinar will explore trauma-informed approaches to movement, strength, and mobility. We will explore trauma-informed modalities, weight-neutral frameworks, and disability-positive concepts related to how people can (re)connect with their bodies, regulate their nervous systems, and regain a greater sense of agency and control.
Objectives:
  1. Describe two characteristics of trauma-informed yoga.
  2. Explain how toxic fitness culture is harmful to all of us, specifically trans survivors.
  3. List three benefits of healing, embodiment, and agency when individuals can connect with their body through movement.
