Empowering. Healing. Connecting.

Transgender Day of Remembrance was marked virtually for many cities across the world.  The impact of COVID-19 added layers of emotional strain to those who wanted to gather in person, to grieve and mourn together, to honor the lives of those who had died this past year from anti-transgender violence.

In Milwaukee, WI, FORGE’s home base, we marked the day with a virtual event, filled with 14 short speeches, music, remembrances from prior years, and bookended with our community’s faith leaders grounding and centering us all.

MKE TDOR: Ground. Speak. Remember. Connect.

This was a COMMUNITY event — for the community, of the community, by the community, and with the community. Part of joining together as a community this year and every year, is to hear multiple voices and diverse views.
