Hi! I’m Adrien Lawyer, Executive Director of the Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico. When I was a kid, one of the biggest challenges in my life was the fact that nobody saw me as the boy I knew I was. I even tried to tell them, at a very young age, but because I was born in 1970, my mom had none of the information we have now! So she had no chance to be the great ally I know she would have been. But today, my family sees me for the man I am and they accept me as part of the family. I know that is not true for all of our trans siblings, but at TGRCNM, we work for the day when everyone shares this experience of love and acceptance.
