Transgender sexuality and trauma

Transgender people’s sexuality is often misunderstood or ignored because of providers’ focus on their transgender identity or gender expression. This webinar provides an overview of the diversity of transgender and gender non-conforming people’s sexuality, including four core components of sexuality: 1. Identity, 2. Relationships, 3. Practices and behaviors, and 4. Sexual health. Practical examples highlight how victim service providers can apply this knowledge to their work with survivors. Viewers will gain a better understanding of the impact of trauma on transgender survivors’ sexuality and how to honor the whole person when working with transgender individuals and/or partners.
