Trans Survivors Zine: Rage and Soft Desire – Disability & Health
Introductory
Trans Communities Telling stories about physical pain and illness is something that many trans and nonbinary folks become well-practiced in: convincing the doctor we are “trans enough” to prescribe HRT, or “sick enough” to warrant that follow-up test. We adapt these stories depending on the audience. It isn’t surprising that these personal narratives are often heavily intertwined with our communities’ need for justice, and changes to the systems that ask us to be experts about our bodies, and subjects to authority.
Read Issue #7 of the Trans Survivors Zine, with work from 20 talented artists and writers! Each piece has a focus on navigating illness, disability, and healthcare systems as a trans/nonbinary survivor. Join us in sharing and celebrating their work!
