Working with rural trans survivors (Webinar)

Transgender individuals live in every corner of the country, including in rural areas.  This webinar provided an overview of the realities and implications of being transgender and not living in a large urban community. Guest presenter Kris Bein, IowaCASA’s Resource Sharing Project Assistant Coordinator, shared insights on working in rural communities with transgender survivors. She coverd positive and negative aspects of rural life, and what is different about advocacy in rural settings. A major focus is on practical advocacy tips for working in the intersections of rural communities, services for victims of violence, and transgender victims.
