State-sanctioned anti-trans hate violence: Understanding the role and impact legislative and policy actions
The current socio-political climate has not only ramped up historic modes of harm against trans and nonbinary people but has also been attempting to legislate trans people out of existence. In the past several years, policy and legislation have created nearly insurmountable barriers to accessing health and mental health care, victim services, basic support systems, and involvement in public life. This webinar will explore the profound impact of state-sanctioned hate – expressed through legislation, social media, news, political trends, and more – on trans/nonbinary individuals and communities.
