Trans-specific barriers to accessing health care

Sexual assault and domestic violence victims often need more physical and/or mental health care than non-survivors, both directly following abuse/assault and years later. Transgender and non-binary survivors and loved ones often face additional challenges accessing healthcare-related services (including denial of care and even revictimization). This webinar reviews some of the primary barriers trans survivors face when accessing health care, including additional complications that have emerged with the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). Positive recent developments and possible work-arounds are also covered.
