Trans & Non-Binary Employees and Workplace Harassment: Legal Rights & Options (2)
Trans Communities
Transgender and non-binary workers can experience high rates of mistreatment at work because of their gender identity or expression. As a result, 77% of transgender and non-binary employees have taken steps to avoid harassment and discrimination at work, like hiding their gender identity or delaying their transition. When those measures don’t work or harassment happens anyway, sorting out rights and options can be difficult because the workplace rights of trans and non-binary employees come from a patchwork of laws and court decisions. With the support of the Time’s Up Legal Defense and Education Fund, this webinar will clarify the legal rights and options that transgender and non-binary employees have when dealing with workplace harassment, including how to get help when harassment happens. Attention will be paid to understanding existing legal rights, responding to workplace harassment, and ensuring everyone’s right to work in a place free of harassment.
This free webinar will also offer practical solutions and resources to support trans & non-binary employees, including free legal assistance and support from the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund.
Webinar facilitators include FORGE staff:
Shelley Gregory, J.D.; michael munson; and Loree Cook-Daniels.
