Gender Odyssey Espavo Photoshoot

August 4, 2016 - August 7, 2016

FORGE will host our first ever Espavo Project Photo Shoot in the eclectic city of Seattle, WA at the Gender Odyssey Conference! Espavo Project photographer, Leigh Houghtaling, and Espavo Project Coordinator, Katie Taylor, will be onsite and ready to help guide you through your photo experience. Participation is FREE and all attendees will receive a FREE copy of their photo (up to an 8×10) that will be mailed to them after the conference.

Espavo, means “Thank you for taking your power back.” The Espavo Project is a photographic and narrative project developed by FORGE and designed to increase personal healing and empowerment for trans, gender non-binary individuals, and loved ones who have experienced sexual violence. We contracted photographers from all over the country to recruit volunteers (who represent the spectrum of trans as well as non-trans identities) to have their photos taken and to craft resiliency quotes that inspire healing.  Together, the photos and resiliency quotes empower participants, as well as create a gallery of inspiration for survivors of sexual violence who identify as trans, gender non-binary and loved ones and shows how survivors can “take their power back.”

Check back for updates on workshops that will be presented by FORGE staff.
