Day 1 – Bullying

According to the 2011 Injustice at Every Turn report, 78% of those who expressed a transgender identity or gender non-conformity while in school (K-12) experienced harassment, 35% were physically assaulted, and 12% were sexually assaulted. Bullying has long-term implications as well: 15% of those harassed trans kids left school before earning their diploma, lowering their chances of employment and increasing their exposure to violence if they need to survive through sex work or other street economies.
