Workshop at the Philadelphia Trans Health Conference – Professional Track

Description:

We now know that at least half of transgender and gender non-binary individuals have survived sexual assault, and at least a third have experienced intimate partner violence. Luckily, helping survivors in respectful and culturally-competent ways has gotten substantially easier in the past few years. In this very practical workshop we will:

Discuss new federal laws and regulations improving trans and GNB survivors’ access to services funded by:

  • Review training and technical assistance materials for service providers
  • Explore new trans-specific resources and tools providers can use with survivors.

Objectives:

  • Participants will be able to discuss at least three new federal protections for trans IPV/SA survivors.
  • Participants will know how to access archived and new training opportunities specific to trans IPV/SA survivors.
  • Participants will be aware of tools they can use to help trans IPV/SA survivors.
