Building Stronger Relationships Between Sexual Assault Service Providers and Transgender Survivors
(A demonstration project)
Under a grant from the Office of Victims of Crime, FORGE selected four communities in which to develop demonstration projects designed to help bridge the gap between transgender survivors of sexual abuse/assault and mainstream services for sexual abuse survivors:
- Boston, Massachusetts
- Boulder, Colorado
- Iowa City, Iowa
- the State of Maine
As part of this project, we conducted national, Morehouse School of Medicine IRB-approved surveys of both transgender/gender non-conforming people and sexual assault service providers. Watch this space for upcoming reports on the survey results and a Replication Guide that can help bridge the gap in your community.
