2015 Changes in Local Programming
For 20 years, a staple of FORGE’s local programming has been hosting monthly social support, discussion-oriented meetings.
Times have changed.
Peoples’ needs have changed.
Access to resources have changed.
FORGE has grown and changed.
In 2015, we will continue with the trend you likely saw in 2014 — a shift towards more formal programming. You will have the chance to see out of town speakers, participate in workshops and skills-building activities, listen to panel presentations, engage with creative arts and healing-focused events, as well as watch progressive films and explore new and old books.
What does this mean? We are shifting away from providing general social support. We recognize that there are many options in Milwaukee and around the state that provide support and general discussion. We encourage you to explore which option(s) best fit your needs if you are looking for support or social connection.
However, we also recognize that many of you count on open discussion and support every month from FORGE. In an effort to address community needs, FORGE Fellow Natalie Miller will be facilitating open discussion directly prior to monthly programming. Please join Natalie and others for connection and support, starting at 6:00pm on March 6, 2015 (and future months on the 4th Saturday at 6:00pm).
