Where in the world is FORGE?
The National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs convenes an annual meeting for member organizations. The Roundtable serves as a time for networking, knowledge-sharing, and honing in on specific issues related to LGBTQ anti-violence with people who share a similar goal of serving LGBTQ survivors.
FORGE has been an active member since 2007. FORGE staff member Loree Cook-Daniels is the current co-chair of the NCAVP policy committee and contributed to the 2 day roundtable gathering in this (and other) capacities.
New York Anti-Violence Program’s Chai Jindasurat and FORGE’s michael munson co-hosted “An overview of the sexual orientation and gender identity non-discrimination conditions in the Reauthorized Violence Against Women Act” webinar. The content of this webinar focused on the Frequently Asked Questions document the Department of Justice issued in April 2014 explaining in more detail how the non-discrimination provision will work.
