Exciting year ahead – 2014

As some of you know, FORGE was founded in 1994, which means that 2014 is our 20th anniversary.  We will celebrate this milestone throughout the year by sharing FORGE history and by hosting or co-hosting special events.  Be prepared to mark your calendar frequently with many exciting events.

A finalized 2014 schedule will be available in early January.  We wanted to share a snapshot of some of the local monthly informational/support meeting topics already firmed up, as well as highlight some of the other eventsto keep an eye out for.


Local informational/support meeting topics include:

  • Affordable Care Act implications for trans people
  • Trans* Veteran issues (with guest speaker)
  • Film screening: “Still Black” (talk back with filmmaker Kortney Ziegler)
  • Spirituality (with guest speaker)
  • Therapist panel (5 – 6 therapists from Wisconsin and northern Illinois)
  • Film screening: “Intersexion” (with talk back)
  • Hormone 101 (with guest health care provider presentation)
  • Surgery (with guest speaker and surgeon)
  • Relationships and partner-focused issues (with guest speaker and bonus for members who RSVP)
  • Suicide prevention (with unique option for those who sign up the month prior)
  • Name and documentation change (with guest speaker)
