TDOR – Your Voice Is Important
Transgender Day of Remembrance — there is still time to have your voice included!
We want to hear from you.
The Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is just around the corner. The greater Milwaukee community will be honoring those who have lost their lives due to anti-transgender hate and/or violence on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 7:30pm in Room 191 of the UW-Milwaukee Union.
This is a COMMUNITY event — for the community, of the community, by the community. Part of joining together as a community this year, is to hear multiple voices and diverse views.
Please capture your thoughts, feelings, and reflections on violence, hate and fear, and/or resilience, healing and hope in writing and submit your words to AskFORGE [at] forge-forward [dot] org for possible inclusion in this year’s TDOR event. (For more details, see: http://forge-forward.org/2012/10/tdor-call-for-submissions/)
Please submit your writing by Thursday, November 15, 2012.
TDOR is not a “trans event” — but rather an event where all parts of our diverse LGBTQA community can join together with a common purpose, vision, and awareness that anti-trans violence is pervasive, but so is pro-trans love, acceptance and celebration.
Your voice is important in making our community whole and healthy.
